Hey everyone ! Welcome back to my blog. For Today’s class we were given a list of stereotypes and we had to expound on how we are or are differerent from that stereotype.
I am Sudiksha Ajit Lachman, an 18-year-old student at Binus International University. I was born in Jakarta, Indonesia on January 18, 2002. My parents were both born in Jakarta. However, my Paternal Grandparents were born in Solo and Surabaya respectively. Although my Maternal Grandparents were born in Jakarta. In addition, my Maternal Great Grandparents were born in India and moved to Indonesia in around 1950 this was how I have the Indian touch or Indian blood. My Maternal Great Grandmother was alive till I was about 13 years old which was in 2015. One of the interesting stories that she told me was when she was in India a long time ago before independence, she was able to witness the war between India and Pakistan. Her story brought me to tears. Because her husband was in war and it was very scary seeing your husband go to work not knowing whether he will come home that night. She also shared with me her struggles having to live during the war time and seeing so much bloodshed and dead bodies right in front of your face.
People usually believe that my generation is into technology. However, I believe that I am not that stereotype and I do not belong to technology. I am more of an old-fashioned kind of student; I prefer pen and paper compared to having to type my answers and email. I also prefer printed books compared to online books because I really enjoy the feeling of being able to flip the pages and just the feeling of being lost in the book and connecting with the characters. I do not get this feeling when I read an online book. As most people enjoy online classes, I really do not enjoy it. I struggle every single morning logging into zoom and not only that, my eyes hurt from staring at the screen for 10 hours straight. I prefer the face to face classes, the human touch, the normal classroom. I just want corona to end as fast as possible so that I can go back to the normal world.
